After winning the toss, Maharashtra squandered away the advantage of batting first by losing wickets at regular intervals. Only Chirag Khurana sustained to score a gritty half-century. The biggest blow for them was the wicket of Kedar Jadhav who was dismissed just minutes before lunch. However, Karnataka failed to push Maharashtra by allowing them to build partnerships.
